Cake taste better together @ Xcel Bowl
For the third year running, the staff and volunteers at Xcel Bowl put on their aprons, dusted their rolling pins and took part in the world's largest coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer.
The smell of the homemade baked goods drew in a fantastic crowd to the bowling alley on Friday 25th September as their mouths watered over tempting flapjacks, cakes, muffins and cupcakes. There were plenty of games and activities to take part in throughout the day including a small raffle to raise extra funds for this worthwhile cause.
A group of 30 students and teachers from Trinity St David's were particularly generous as they came down to Xcel to support the cause and enjoyed some bowling after to work off their sweet treats
Keja Howell, Xcel Bowl Supervisor, who organised the event commented: 'We love hosting this event as it really goes down well with our regular customers who already enjoy the community feel we have here at Xcel. Thank you to everyone who baked something or came down and supported as we raised a fantastic £300'.
Keja added: 'As a charity ourselves, we like to do all we can to support as many other local and national charities so we are very grateful to everyone who came down to support this event and gave so generously - we'll see you again next year!'.
